John Nugent Operations Partner

John Nugent has over three decades of senior operating and financial management experience within the energy services, lighting, electronics and specialty plastics industries including leveraged buyout situations. He currently serves as CEO and Director of FirstPoint Energy Corporation, a TSG portfolio company, where he is responsible for the implementation of profitable growth strategies.

John is an EVP of the Entrepreneurial Resources Group (ERG), a professional service firm providing experienced executives to companies searching for operational improvements. He has also served as the CEO of World Energy Exchange.

Previously, John was President & COO of Duro-Test Lighting Corporation, a lighting components manufacturer that was an investment of the Thomas H. Lee Company (THL). He also served as EVP & CFO of Anchor Advanced Products, Inc., another THL investment, which manufactures specialty plastic components.

In addition, John has served as SVP, CFO & Controller of $1.1 billion revenue and $600 million revenue divisions of North American Philips Corporation; as well as CFO of divisions of GTE Sylvania, Inc. ranging in size from $50 million to $300 million in revenues.

John received a BS in Accounting from Bentley College and an MBA in Marketing & Finance from Boston College. He has also completed the executive program at Stanford University and the GTE Financial Management Development Program.
